Just a quick note to say that earlier in the year the band had tentatively pencilled in a concert for this weekend, but due to a number of reasons, we had to postpone that event until December.
More information about the upcoming Christmas concert, scheduled for 3rd December 2023, will be posted in coming days…
This message probably doesn’t come as a great surprise.
The band executive and MD have been contemplating whether rehearsals should continue given the current government advice for social distancing to restrict the spread of COVID-19. We have sought advice from a medical professional who has recommended we suspend rehearsals until further notice, with the following info.
Department of Health advice states the following that applies to our rehearsals:
– No non-essential contact with groups of others over 90 minutes.
– No close contact in groups.
– Defer large meetings.
– No handshaking or touching others.
We know that people will be unhappy with this decision, but in the interest of public health we will follow the advice given and suspend rehearsals until further notice.
Updates will be posted when we know more about the possible resumption of our rehearsals. Please keep practising at home.
In preparation for this weekend’s Australia Day festivities, the band will be starting its 2019 rehearsals at the Tom Flood Centre tomorrow (Wednesday) night, from 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there and are looking forward to a great year..!!!
Happy new year to all band members, families and our extended network of banding friends. We hope that 2019 will be a wonderful year for you all and we look forward to seeing you at our first engagement this year, which just happens to be Australia Day. More details to follow.
