2pm on Sunday 9th October 2022 Ulumbarra Theatre Bendigo
The Rotary Club of Bendigo South and the Ulumbarra Foundation present a concert fundraiser featuring James Morrison with the City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band.
The City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band has a long history dating back to 1862 with the formation of the Sandhurst Volunteer Band, and from then has always been ready to bring music to Bendigo and surrounds. The band participates in many community events such as ANZAC Day, Easter Processions, community concerts and Christmas carols. They are joined by one of Australia’s most talented and versatile jazz musicians, James Morrison.
James started playing professionally at age 13 and has a stellar professional career behind him: he has performed alongside the best jazz musicians of our generation and has had the privilege of performing for the President and First Lady of the United States. Bring your family and friends and prepare to be blown away by the sheer brilliance that is James Morrison with the amazing City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band.
Proceeds from this concert are shared by the Ulumbarra Foundation – providing special grants for up-and-coming performers, the Rotary Club of Bendigo South’s Scholarship program and the City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band.
Everybody is invited to the Bendigo Brass Band Fundraiser Film Night at Star Cinema next Thursday February 3rd. Ticket information can be found at on the Star Cinema Website.
The band is proud to present its first major concert since the start of 2020. We look forward to sharing an evening with you at St. Pauls Cathedral (Myers Street) at 6pm on Friday 10th December 2021.

This message probably doesn’t come as a great surprise.
The band executive and MD have been contemplating whether rehearsals should continue given the current government advice for social distancing to restrict the spread of COVID-19. We have sought advice from a medical professional who has recommended we suspend rehearsals until further notice, with the following info.
Department of Health advice states the following that applies to our rehearsals:
– No non-essential contact with groups of others over 90 minutes. – No close contact in groups. – Defer large meetings. – No handshaking or touching others.
We know that people will be unhappy with this decision, but in the interest of public health we will follow the advice given and suspend rehearsals until further notice.
Updates will be posted when we know more about the possible resumption of our rehearsals. Please keep practising at home.
As has become a tradition for the band, we will once again be a major part of the Bendigo Carols by Candlelight in Rosalind Park in 2019. Under the professional management of Bendigo Rotary, the carols will kick off at around 6pm for pre-event entertainment. The main carols event will start at 8pm. The band is expecting to play a bracket of songs at around 7.45pm and will accompany the traditional carol singing throughout the evening. It looks like the weather will be behaving itself as well. See you there..!!!
