The City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band has always placed great emphasis on the development of junior players as part of its overall development, the development of youth in the Bendigo region and the betterment of brass in general. In 2005, Bendigo Youth Brass (BYB) was formed and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Alicia Parry, a local musician involved with a number of bands, orchestras and other musical groups, has recently taken up the challenge of developing and coaching Bendigo Youth Brass and ensuring they work as a musical team.
Bendigo Youth Brass rehearses every Wednesday night (except school holidays) from 6.30pm at the Tom Flood Sports Centre in Bendigo. The band is always on the lookout for chances to perform in public and has a major aim of competing at the Bendigo Eisteddfod in May.
