Cally Bartlett
Musical Director – Senior Band
Cally Bartlett is an accomplished musician and teacher within the Bendigo community. She was the musical director of the Bendigo Youth Brass from 2006 – 2011 and led them to many competition victories and enjoyable community performances. She was also the Assistant Musical Director of the City of Bendigo Brass Band and in 2008 was awarded the Les Rigby award for Bands Person of the Year.
Cally studied Cello with Zoe Knighton at the University of Melbourne and completed her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Teaching with Honours in 2005. She also completed an AmusA diploma in Cello Performance in 2002.
She has taught classroom music and strings at Girton Grammar, including the teaching of VCE Style and Composition as well as conducting the school’s Senior String Orchestra. Cally has been a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra as well as leading the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra and playing in many local productions and concerts.
Cally likes playing all types of music and has enjoyed playing a number of instruments over her career including all of the strings, bassoon, clarinet, tuba, tenor horn, piano and percussion. She also enjoys arranging music, photography and gluten-free baking.
